100x100 Computational Design Challenge

Throughout 2020 I created 100 computational designs in 100 days as a way to learn creative coding and explore generative art

Day 50 - Smudge

Well, here I am, halfway through my computational design challenge! As I did at the quarter point, I’m going to take a bit of time off to recharge and figure out what to do next. I feel like I’m hitting a bit of a wall with regards to my knowledge base, so need to decide whether I refine what I know, push myself to learn more, or really just try to nail the basics. I’d also like to reflect a bit on how I can take what I’m learning and apply it to my UX work. But, that’s for later. For now, I’m wrapping up my week of playing with photography with a smudgey drippy sketch. This one pulls in a random photo, and a random sized rectangle filled with a random colour from a random pixel of that random photo, and smudges it down the canvas. I like the effect a lot!

Thank you again to everyone who contributed photos this week - @cassondrasky, @tamaradimepiece, @clem_sphynx, @ryanantonior, @victoria_strader, @oneofthem.dolls, @thek8lyn, @xtinawalkinshaw, @kyleweevers, @rachhhadams, @thewayfaringdesigner, @mananders, @elemental_3, @kyung.yyz, @carrrrrrrooooo, @tab______rez.
