100x100 Computational Design Challenge

Throughout 2020 I created 100 computational designs in 100 days as a way to learn creative coding and explore generative art

Day 53 - Small Doses

I met my partner online in March. We quickly hit it off and made a plan to go on a date the following week. We agreed that, prior to the date, we’d keep messaging but only in "small doses”, saving really getting to know one another for when we were face to face. Little did we know, the COVID lockdown would hit Toronto only days after we made this plan and it would be three months of texts, calls, Zooms, shared photos, care packages, love letters, masked walks and distanced dates before finally having our first face to face date. It wasn’t an easy time, but I wouldn’t change it for anything. For him, small doses.

Inspired by the rubber stamp work of Ruth Asawa, I used X and Y mouse position to control the vertical spacing of the words, along with noise to vary the horizontal placing ever so slightly.
